| Message | Where do I find the articles mentioned in magazine 1/2009 regarding tickets I have been charged R1500.00 for driving ny 1006 Avalon with an EB liscense as the GVW on the disk i9s 3550 kgs that is 50kg over from the EB allowance |

The 3500 kg gvm limit for an EB driver's licence only applies to goods vehicles and buses. Motorhomes are neither. Provided that your windscreen disc has "caravan" as the vehicle description on it, then you can appeal against an incorrect prosecution in writing to your local licence authorities, as the upper limit used in the case of motorhomes for the driver's licence is in fact the plated tare mass. Put another way, the EB licence for a motorhome is valid provided that the plated TARE MASS is not more than 3500 kg. Refer to MCSA web site for specific regulation number. Actual gross mass should never exceed the vehicle's plated GVM, as this is an overloading violation that has nothing to do with the category of licence of the driver.
