| Message | I've just purchased a L300 Explorer at a fair price - considering that it has wood rot in the corners of the alcove above the cab. This seems to be a common problem with these vehicles where owners have not regularly sealed the seams. I'd like to fix the problem and start afresh... I received quotes of R 7000 - R 12000 to repair the flanks and floor. The cheaper quote involves peeling back the entire skin and working from the outside. The expensive quote involves working from the inside only... As it is possible to repair the damage from inside, I might attempt the repairs myself. Have any club members undertaken a repair of this nature. If so, any advice would be much appreciated. |
