Hi,
A motorhome owner in the south of France, near Avignon, I was wondering if any of your members would be interested in doing an exchange in order to visit Europe. Renting a motorhome is expensive and exchanging with another motorhome owner seems to be a much better idea. House swapping is fairly common, but the idea of swapping a motorhome is not so well know. Here in Europe it's easy enough to do. Our insurance company allows us to lend (but not to rent) our motorhome, so there is no problem from that point of view. Of course you have to talk the matter over via e-mail with your future exchange partner.
Exchanging at exactly the same time is possible but it is more practical to exchange at different times. Last year we exchanged with a couple in Plettenberg Bay. They have a VW California 4x4. They say it is the only one in South Africa, because they bought it at a show and it was never imported. It's small but big enough for 2 and lovely to drive. Ours is a Fiat Ducato with a professional outfit. The 2.8 turbo diesel is also nice to drive. We loved South Africa so much we would like to go again, so if anyone is interested in a swap? We only need a vehicle suitable for 2 people. We are retired teachers.
Best regards,
Frank Burch
