Message HI all,
I was wondering if anyone could help me choose the right camper for our family [2 adults 1 kid]. We keen to spend about R150 000 so we are in the 2nd hand market.
I have looked at the Mitsubishi L300 Champion and like the build quality and layout, however i have the following concerns:
- Fuel consumption, with the increased weigh and size does this have a significant impact on fuel?
- Cruising speed, would the vehicle sit comfortably at 100km and what happens on the hills?
- Off road capabilities, I understand that they are only 2x4 but has anyone added a diff lock? If so what have been the results? Has anyone been successful in converting these vehicles into a 4x4? I imagine this is almost impossible.
- is their a way to increase the clearance and ride height?

Our plan is to use the vehicle along the Wild Coast region and then do some touring into Mozambique hence the need for 4x4. I have looked all over the place and cannot seem to find any 4x4 motorhomes but for very old Land Rover Forward controls

any advice on the above would be great
thank you Motorhome club

regards Sean
