Message I am looking for the person that bought a Motorhome from a supplier in Cape Town in the past year/year and half that was in an accident on the way to be delivered from Cape Town or was driven up to Cape Town. Aparently the motorhome hit a Koedoe or alike near Beufordwest. The cab was writen off, but the rear part of the motorhome was still in takt. The customer got a brand new Motorhome from the supplier, and the rear part was built on another chassis and sold again or was built on a new chassis and given to the existing customer.

Message I've just purchased a L300 Explorer at a fair price - considering that it has wood rot in the corners of the alcove above the cab. This seems to be a common problem with these vehicles where owners have not regularly sealed the seams. I'd like to fix the problem and start afresh...

I received quotes of R 7000 - R 12000 to repair the flanks and floor. The cheaper quote involves peeling back the entire skin and working from the outside. The expensive quote involves working from the inside only...

As it is possible to repair the damage from inside, I might attempt the repairs myself. Have any club members undertaken a repair of this nature. If so, any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Richard,

We are new to motorhomes and have a Mitsubishi L300 which a weight of 1800kg.(I would check this at a weighbridge - front and back separately - I think that you will find this a lot more) Put all your travel stuff in the van to get a real travelleing weight. Usually 60% of load is at the rear.
